Ego-structuring psychotherapy

Ego-structuring psychotherapy is a cognitive psychotherapeutic method with unique possibilities to develop structure for a deficient ego by the development of a non-oedipal structured ego.

The method, which is based on Jacques Lacan's development of the psycho-analytic theory, has been elaborated by Palle Villemoes (1937-2004), the psychiatrist, psychotherapist and supervisor in Sweden. His colleagues continue to develop the implementation of his unique and revolutionary method.

The method is based on clinical experiences and deep understanding of people with psychoses and borderline personality disorders. The strength of the method is its anchoring in the psychoanalytic theory and its systematic description of the psychotherapeutic process, from the very beginning of the psychotherapy to its ending.

Ego-structuring psychotherapy is very efficient, as it requires a comparatively short time.
